From Tibet to the Early West
24 Days · 1000 Pieces · A Surprise Puzzle
A Sensitive Kind Heritage Collection
What if a puzzle did not begin with knowing what the finished picture would look like?
Volume I of the Tibetan Terrier Heritage Puzzle is designed as a true surprise puzzle in Advent calendar format.Behind 24 numbered compartments, the story gradually unfolds piece by piece – without revealing the complete artwork on the box.
Over 24 days, a richly detailed visual journey through the early history of the Tibetan Terrier begins to emerge.
The story starts in the Himalayas, among mountains, monasteries, prayer flags and the robust dogs of early Tibet. From there, it follows the journey westwards, the first connections with Europe and the beginnings of the breed’s documented history, including Dr. Agnes Greig, the Lamleh dogs and the development of the Tibetan Terrier in Great Britain.
Rather than presenting history as a rigid timeline, the artwork works like an illustrated memory book. Landscapes, dogs, old photographs, travelling trunks, documents, books, ships and fragments of different periods flow into one another.
Some details are immediately recognisable.
Others may only become clear when the pieces around them finally fall into place.
And that is exactly the idea.
This is not simply a puzzle to complete.
It is an artwork to discover.
The finished puzzle consists of 1000 pieces and measures approximately 64 x 48 cm.
The complete motif is not shown on the packaging. Only selected details offer a glimpse of the world hidden inside.
Because sometimes the best part of a puzzle is not knowing exactly where the journey will lead.

Volume I - The Beginning
This first volume explores the earlier chapters of Tibetan Terrier history: from Tibet and the Himalayas through the journey west, Dr. Agnes Greig and the beginnings of the breed’s development in Great Britain.
The name Volume I is also a quiet nod to the history of Tibetan Terrier literature itself.
And the story is not finished.
Volume II is planned for next year, continuing the journey from the 1980s to the present day – with later generations, international lines, modern show history and Tibetan Terriers around the world.
